Due to the global net zero emission target, recovering bioenergy from biomass/waste to substitute fossil fuel energy has become a global trend. Numerous technologies of converting biomass/waste to three-phase biofuels (gaseous, liquid, and solid) and value-added materials have been developed and explored. Except biorefinery technologies, emission control, environmental assessment, as well as bio-economy development, offer essential sectors in the sustainable biomass/waste valorization chain.
